The 3 rd Sino-Canada International Education Exchange Forum is successfully held in Nantong, China

On July 18, 2009, over 60 principals, school administrators, and educators from Canada and US paid their visit to the 3rd Session of Sino-Canada International Education Exchange Forum in Nantong, Jiangsu province. The 3rd Session of Sino-Canada International Education Exchange Forum is a combination of official forum and Tianjiao Cultural Exchange Program. Therefore, later after the forum, all the participants visited and traveled to other cities and enjoyed their wonderful stays in China.

Coquitlam School Board (SD 43)Chair, Melissa Hyndes, and several representatives representing Coquitlam School Board participated in this great event, including, Tom Grant, the superintendent of SD43, Patricia Gartland, the director of International Education of SD 43. This delegation from Coquitlam School District signed several cooperation agreements with Chinese school district and associated schools, including Nantong Education Bureau, Nantong No.1 Middle School and Shanghai Commercial Schools. In addition, Ms. Juleen McElgunn, the superintendent of SD 53 in Okanagan, and Mr. Robert Meyer, senior director of PFK International from United States, also joined the forum and gave their speeches to Chinese educators.

Many participants in this delegation had given their speeches during the two day forum regarding to 3 different fields, School Administration, Fine Arts and Sport, and Second Language Learning. On the other hand, educators from Chinese counterparts also presented their opinions and thoughts about local Chinese education system.

During the forum, lessons and instructions of Chinese traditional calligraphy and paper cutting were given to our honoured forum participants. It was the first time for many of our Canadian and US educators to use brushes to write. Many of them showed great interests and did great jobs under professional instructions. Another highlight of this forum was the performance show provided by one of the forum hosting – Nantong No.1 Middle School. The show mixed Western and Eastern culture together. All the performers are senior students from Nantong No. 1 Middle School.

The forum session was merely the highlight of the trip for all our Canadian and US visitors. The group visited several famous tourism cities and attraction sites, including Beijing – The Great Wall of China and Forbidden City, Shanghai- Oriental Perl Tower and Chenghuangmiao Market, Hangzhou- West Lake etc. On this trip, they all experienced the rich Chinese culture and tradition. The forum is over. However, the experience and the memory will last. And, the friendship will continue.

Tianjiao's Cultural Exchange trips are more than just a vacation. You meet real people and experience real life in China. You see what you always have dreamed of seeing and live a life never imagined. First class accommodation, the finest foods, and every detail looked after by professionals who know what you are looking for. Ideal for teachers, students and families, I would recommend Tianjiao as the only way to see China. Definitely more than just a vacation; it's the experience of a lifetime.
