Follow Dr.Norman Bethune to China
4th Sino-Canada International Educational Exchange Forum is Now Accepting Registration
Dear Educators and Educational Administrators,

The Organizing Committee and Coquitlam School District are jointly inviting you to the 4th Session of the Sino-Canada International Educational Exchange Forum. This international conference will be held in Beijing in July, 2010.

The Forum will bring together Canadian, American and Chinese educators, offering participants an opportunity to learn about each other’s educational system and practices in a relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Our three previous Forums were held in Beijing in 2006 and 2007, and in Nantong in 2009 with over 1000 participants. The 2010 Forum will be redesigned around three strands: School Administration, Music Teaching, and Language Teaching. There will be opportunities for exchanging ideas and establishing networking partnerships between schools and school districts. A celebration of cultures will be featured under the ‘ Follow Dr. Norman Bethune to China’ heading in recognition of the great Canadian surgeon’s contribution to China. The forum starts from July 18th and ends on the 19th. Canadian delegation may have the opportunity to be invited to visit their counterparts afterwards.

Attending the 4th Session of Sino-Canada International Educational Forum is one of the best gateways into Chinese culture and Chinese schools. There are several options for cultural touring following the Forum. We are also seeking speakers for the three strands mentioned and invite you to be a presenter as well as a participant.

Coquitlam School District will co-host the 4th session of the Forum again with Tianjiao. We hope more school districts can join us to participate or to sponsor this important intiative. Thank you.

Yours Sincerely,

Organizing Committee of 2010 Sino-Canada International Educational Exchange Forum
Coquitlam School District

“ We were proud to co-host the Tianjiao Educational Forum in Nantong, China in July of 2009. This is the second time we have collaborated with Tianjiao to promote this colloquium.

The Tianjiao Educational Forum is an important venue to promote international dialogue among educators from China and British Columbia. James Zhan has succeeded in building alliances with principals and teachers that have resulted in many sister school relationships.

This year’s forum provided an opportunity for our Coquitlam School District principals to make presentations to an audience of Chinese and Canadian teachers and principals on various specialty areas such as second language instruction, fine arts, and athletics.

Through funding provided by our Confucius Classroom, the Chair of our Board of Education and several principals were able to visit China for the first time. By providing our leaders with an opportunity to experience and appreciate Chinese language and culture in an educational context, we were able to make progress toward the internationalization of our schools.

I commend the work of James Zhan and his management team for the bridges they have built, and continue to build, between educators in China and British Columbia. We look forward to co-hosting the 2010 Tianjiao Educational Forum in Beijing. “

Tianjiao's Cultural Exchange trips are more than just a vacation. You meet real people and experience real life in China. You see what you always have dreamed of seeing and live a life never imagined. First class accommodation, the finest foods, and every detail looked after by professionals who know what you are looking for. Ideal for teachers, students and families, I would recommend Tianjiao as the only way to see China. Definitely more than just a vacation; it's the experience of a lifetime.
