TERMS & CONDITIONS

Reservation
To reserve a tour, please complete one of the following procedures:

Submit a completed reservation form online for requested itinerary
Download and complete the reservation form and fax or mail to Tianjiao’s Vancouver office
 

Early Bird Special
To take advantage of the Early Bird special, registrants must be confirmed and paid in full 3 months before departure.

Deposit
Upon confirmation of your tour, a deposit of $500 per person is required within seven business days.

Final Payment
Final payment is due on April 1 for the May departure, and Oct. 1 for the November departure. If full payment is not received at this time, we reserve the right to regard your reservation as cancelled.

Late Reservation
For reservations after April 1 or October 1, there is a $200 late registration fee as well as payment required in full upon registration.

Gas Surcharge
Tianjiao includes gasoline surcharges in its tour price in accordance with the latest increases in gasoline price. No additional surcharges for gasoline will be charged unless price increases are specified by airline companies used before departure date.

Method of Payment
Tianjiao accepts cheques and cash only. Please make cheques payable to Tianjiao International Education Group. Returned cheques will be charged $30 fee.

Changing Reservations
Any changes made in reservations will be charged accordingly to the changes requested (if applicable). Cancellation penalty may also apply accordingly based on the cancellation penalty policy listed below.

Travel Documents
You are responsible to ensure that the all information is up to date and correct. This may include items such as names. Due to new security measures, and name changes including minors, spelling corrections may require airline reservations to be cancelled and rebooked. Reservations are subject to availability at the time of rebooking. Once full payment is received, airline tickets will be issued. Subsequent name corrections will be subject to an airline rebooking fee of up to $250 per ticket plus a Tianjiao $50 revision fee per change. Tianjiao will not be held responsible for the denial of services by carrier due to nay name discrepancy. Name changes must be advised in writing.

Tipping
A tip is an appreciation for the good service of the staff. An $8 tip per day per person for the tour leader is suggested. It will be collected in the pre-trip meeting. The tour leader will tip bell boys.

Cancellation
When a reservation is cancelled, a written cancellation request must be submitted and the following cancellation charges will apply for all listed itineraries for the Business Leader’s Trip to China.

If airline tickets have already been issued, additional cancellation penalty by airline will apply regardless of when the cancellation request is submitted.

All cancellations must be in writing and will be effective upon receipt by Tianjiao International Education Group.Refunds will not be issued once the trip has begun on any charges including but not only subject to unused hotel rooms, uneaten meals, or any sightseeing places not visited on the itinerary.

Tour Fares
All tours include roundtrip international and domestic (where applicable) airfare; all cultural exchange activities; 4 or 5 star hotel accommodations in each city; daily full buffet breakfast; admission fees to all tourist sites and events; all meals listed in the itinerary; all ground transportation within China (new chartered bus); English speaking tour guides.

Additional Cost
The tour fares do not include (unless specified): cost of passports and visas, all taxes (GST 5%), individual travel insurance, personal items such as extra beverages at meals, food or snacks at times other than regular meal times, laundry, telephone, fax or internet/e-mail access charges, film, fee for taking photographs or videos in certain locations, fees for changing money, individual transfers, medical expenses, transportation of heavy baggage in excess of applicable allowance, customs duties, tipping, cost of any medicines or medical care you may require during the trip for any reason, optional excursions listed in the itinerary, optional tour extensions.

Room Occupancy Procedures
For a single occupancy room, an additional charge of $60/per night will apply. Unless specified, Tianjiao places travelers in a double occupancy room with another group member. Tianjiao also reserves the right to modify rooming lists in order to occupy for double occupancy. There is no discount for triple occupancy.

Child Tour Fare
20% discount off the adult tour fare is applicable to children of 11 years of age or under (before the last day of the participated tour itinerary) who share a room with two adults without an extra bed.

Land Only Prices
We can offer land packages for those who would like to purchase the international air tickets by themselves. Please also make sure that the arrival dates in China match those of the brochure itineraries. Tianjiao will not issue refund for any missed events in the event that the arrival dates do not match the itinerary.

Land only prices do not include: Roundtrip international flight, arrival airport transfer to hotel on Day 2, and departure airport transfer from hotel on last day.

Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend the purchase of a trip cancellation, accident and baggage insurance policy form Travel Insurance Service. This form of coverage will protect you against unexpected events that could cause you to cancel or interrupt your trip. Also, this affordable and comprehensive travel protection program provides coverage for unexpected delays, medical assistance, baggage and baggage delay, evacuation, and most importantly preexisting conditions. Passports & Visas
All tour members need a visa to enter China. A passport valid for six months after departure date from Canada is required. You will need to obtain an individual visa from a Chinese consulate. Please contact us for details. (Detailed information can be found on our website: www.canadatj.com )

Airport Transfers
Airport arrival or departure transfer is not included for those who arrive earlier or stay behind, or make their own international flight arrangement.

Shopping
Shopping time will be arranged during your tour at various sites for your convenience. Tianjiao International Education Group does not take any responsibility for any damages, payments, shipping or other problems of your purchase. It is each passenger’s responsibility to contact stores directly.

Immunizations
No immunizations are required for entry into China, unless the traveler is coming from a yellow fever infected area (South America and Africa). The BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) in Vancouver recommends that all travelers have current polio and tetanus immunizations. For traveling in to the countryside, immune (gamma) globulin is also recommended to combat hepatitis A, as is typhoid immunization.

Medical Facilities
Medical facilities for travelers and foreigners are available in major cities. We recommend you to bring a sufficient supply for any medication that you are currently taking since it might not be readily be available or available at all.

Responsibility
Tianjiao International Education Group acts as an agent. The suppliers providing tickets, transportation, conveyance or accommodations are independent contractors and are not agents or employees of Tianjiao. All receipts issued by Tianjiao and all arrangements for transport or conveyance or for hotel accommodations are made by Tianjiao as agent of the suppliers. By utilizing the services of suppliers, you agree that neither Tianjiao nor any subsidiary or affiliate of Tianjiao shall be liable for any injury, damage, loss, accident or delay incurred upon you or those traveling with you in connection with any accommodations, transportation or other services resulting directly or indirectly from any acts or default of the suppliers or from any occurrence or condition beyond the control of Tianjiao, including defects in vehicles or breakdown in equipment, Nor shall Tianjiao be liable for any injury, damage, loss, accident or delay resulting directly or indirectly from delays, cancellations or changes in flight, itineraries, schedules, steamers or other services, strikes, theft, sickness, weather, quarantine or other causes. All tour itineraries and fares may be affected by alterations or delays in air or surface transportation service. Tianjiao reserves the right to withdraw any tour in this program and to make such alterations in the itineraries as may be found desirable for the convenience of the parties or the proper operations of the tour. Tianjiao reserves the right to decline to accept or to retain any person as a member of the tour party at any time. Due to the change of air fare, hotel rates, and the foreign exchange rate, Tianjiao reserves the right to change the tour fare at its discretion without prior notice.

Payment of a deposit represents acceptance by the tour member of the Terms & Conditions listed herein. By utilizing the services of Tianjiao, you agree that the exclusive venue for all claims, actions or proceedings against Tianjiao of whatsoever nature arising out of this contract shall be the Province of British Columbia and such claim, actions or proceedings shall be determined according to the laws within the jurisdiction of the Province of British Columbia.
